UHC Data Portal Updates: Feb 2024

UHC, March 5, 2024

The UHC Research and Data Core is actively working to expand which data from the repository are available. To ensure the accuracy of all data, the UHC Research and Data Core will update the portal as soon as possible. All available data will be updated as much as possible by the UHC Research and Data Core.

Spatial Social Polarization Measures Tool

Lisa Frueh, a PhD student in Environmental and Occupational Health, introduced their interactive online site for exploring Spatial Social Polarization Measures at the UHC on last fall’s GIS Day. They have continued to improve the tool with some help from Ran Li. We have included information about this site on a web page with information on various interactive tools and applications developed by UHC affiliates. Lisa began this work as a 2022-2023 Inclusion, Diversity, Equity & Antiracism (IDEA) fellow. We know that segregation is detrimental to physical and mental health, but methods to operationalize segregation can be complex. The goal of the IDEA fellowship project was to generate a living repository with available measures of segregation along with instructions, code, and examples.
